“Running in North Korea” captures the journey of Olympians Aimee Fuller and Mirjam Jaeger as they travel to Pyongyang to participate in the 2019 Mangyongdae Prize International Marathon and meet fellow Olympians from North Korea. An inside look at the isolated country and how the power of sports can go beyond politics.

Black Identity Extremists

“Black Identity Extremists” is a controversial FBI assessment that has drawn public scrutiny for its apparent advocacy of racial profiling.

This documentary follows black activist Rakem Balogun, the first person to be targeted as a “Black Identity Extremist.”

The Slavery Detective of the South

Slavery might have ended on paper after the Civil War, but many white landowners did everything they could to exploit newly freed slaves well into the 20th century. Thousands of black laborers across the South were forced to work against their will as late as the 1960s.

Akil Gibbons traveled to Louisiana to meet genealogist Antoinette Harrell, the “slavery detective of the South," who tracks down cases of modern-day slavery and abusive labor practices.

DIY Gunshot Treatment

It's no secret that Chicago has become the center of America’s gun violence epidemic. To make matters worse, Chicago’s South Side - where many of these shootings take place - doesn’t even have a trauma center with the ability to treat adult shooting victims.

To help combat these shortfalls, a grassroots community organization known as Ujimaa Medics trains local kids on how to treat gunshot wounds.

Tiamat Medusa

Welcome to Vet TV: a comedy website started by an ex-Marine named Donny O’Malley who believes his brand of dark and twisted humor is the thing that some post-9/11 military veterans have been dying to see.

But, according to Donny, the content is specifically made for front line infantry men to help them laugh about hard times. Completely unapologetic and at times controversial, Vet TV doesn’t shy away from much of anything.

Erica Matson went to visit the set of Vet TV and talk to Donny about his latest show.
